Emma Colonel Esporo: El Chapo's wife arrested in US for drug trafficking

When El Chapo Guzman stood in the courtroom of this New York court, his eyes were often on the side where the public comes and sits.
He seemed to miss his wife, Emma Colonel Esporo, and never
missed an opportunity to confirm his presence.
El Chapo was sentenced to life in prison by the same court
in 2019 and now his wife has also been arrested.
U.S. officials say the wife of Mexican drug smuggler El
Chapo Guzman has been arrested in the United States on drug charges.
Emma Colonel Esporo has been arrested outside Washington's
Devils International Airport.
Emma Coronel, whose husband El Chapo is already in US
custody, has been arrested in connection with a conspiracy to smuggle various
drugs, cocaine, heroin and hashish.

El Chapo is currently serving a life sentence
El Chapo is currently serving a life sentence in a New York
prison for drug trafficking and money laundering.
El Chapo Guzman, 63, was the head of the Sinaloa Cartel, a
drug cartel that authorities say was the largest international drug trafficking
group in the United States.
Her trial in 2019 uncovered shocking events in her life,
including drugging underage girls, raping them and derailing opposition groups
and rivals. Details of the killing were also heard.

According to the US Department of Justice, El Chapo's wife, Colonel Esporo, will be arraigned in a federal court in Washington, D.C.
In addition to drug trafficking, the charges against Emma
Coronel will include charges of conspiracy to escape her husband's escape from
a Mexican prison in 2015.
El Chapo managed to escape through a tunnel from Mexico's
most secure prison, El Tipano. His son bought a house near the prison, after
which El Chapo was smuggled inside the prison with a 'geographical location
system' or a clock indicating his geographical location, and he escaped by
digging a tunnel to El Chapo's cell۔ A small motorbike was
also brought inside the underground tunnel on which they rode out of the
tunnel.
Emma Coronel has not yet commented on the charges against
her.

In an interview with the American media, he said that he
first met Guzman at a dance party when he was only 17 years old and Guzman was
49 years old at the time.
During each three-month trial of her husband in a New York
court, she was present in court, detailing her husband's crimes, including
rape, kidnapping and murder. The details also revealed how El Chayo kept an eye
on him and his relatives.

During the trial of El Chapo, his wife also came to the
attention of the media. On one occasion, when one of El Chapo's midwives was
weeping and testifying against him, his wife kept laughing in the courtroom.
One day during the hearing, the couple wore a jacket of the same color, which
people said was an attempt to prove their loyalty to them.
She supported Guzman until the end of the trial and said
after the trial that her husband was not the kind of person El Chapo was trying
to prove.
Guzman came from a poor family. His organized crime business
grew so much that in 2009 Forbes Magazine named him 701st on the list of the
richest people in the world and estimated his assets to be worth 1 billion.
