The British Prince and Duke of Sussex, Harry, have expressed concern that they saw "history repeating itself" before deciding to step down.
In an upcoming exclusive interview with American TV show
host Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry said he was "relieved" to have his
wife, Meghan, with him.
Prince Harry, referring to his mother Princess Diana's
separation from the royal family three decades ago, said "he can't
imagine" what his mother must have gone through alone.
The interview is being aired in the United States on March
7, but it is not clear when the show, Opera with Meghan and Harry, will air in
the UK.
Meghan Markle did not speak in the two 30, 30 second clips
of the program released by the American network CBS.
"The biggest worry for me was that history was
repeating itself before my eyes," Harry tells the opera in excerpts from
the interview.

He said: "The most comforting thing for me is that I am sitting here with my wife talking to you."
When the show featured young Harry with his mother, Princess
Diana, the prince added: "I can't imagine what those years were like for
her, when she was going through it all alone. It was a very difficult time for
both of us, but at least we were together.
Princess Diana divorced Prince Charles in August 1996 and
separated from the royal family. The following year, she was killed in a car
accident in Paris.
According to CBS, the royal couple talked in an interview
about moving to the United States and their future intentions.
According to the network, during the interview, Meghan
talked about "the responsibilities of royal life, marriage and
motherhood" and how she copes with the growing pressure.

The interview is being aired in the United States on March 7, but it is not clear when the show, 'Opera with Meghan and Harry', will air in the UK.
In the edited clips released on Sunday, Oprah Winfrey can be
seen asking Meghan if there was a time in her life when she was exhausted or an
occasion when she had to keep quiet. Answers not shown.
Prince Harry has said in the past that he decided to give up
his royal life to save his family from the bad environment the British press
had created for him.
Speaking to another TV host, James Cordon, last week, Harry
said the two were "not resigning but retreating" from the royal post.
According to him, this environment was 'destroying his mental
health' and he did what 'any father or husband would do'.
It was announced last month that Harry and Meghan were no
longer active members of the royal family.
The couple said at the time that they would always serve and
support all the organizations they represent.
Remember that Oprah Winfrey is a good friend of Meghan
Markle and she also attended the couple's wedding in 2018.
It is unclear whether Harry and Meghan informed the royal
family about the interview. The royal family declined to comment.
